INTERVENTIONS

For the external flooring overlooking the park of a villa in Switzerland, Cristiano and Patrizio Alviti, master mosaicists, created these medallions, designed by Officina Alviti, that represent the local fauna. The client organizes hunts on the estate, which is why coming up with a suitable subject was no major challenge for their imagination.
Clearly inspired by the black and white mosaics of Roman villas, they feature an original use of graniglia, a historically more recent technique, but which combines well with the medallions.

Mosaic and graniglia tiles

Rome is a continuous source of inspiration for Cristiano and Patrizio Alviti: from the ancient mosaics of the villas, to the more modern but no less fascinating ones by Severini in the Foro Italico.

A fortunate mix of two complex piece de resistance techniques by Officina Alviti: mosaic and graniglia.
